都市部湿地帯の課題と機会

本セミナーでは、急速な都市開発と立ち向かう湿地生態系、特に途上国の湿地帯における課題について議論します。湿地帯は、重要な国際条約であるラムサール条約の焦点です。また、国連生物多様性条約の193の締約国（192ヶ国と欧州連合）は、2010年名古屋市で開催された生物多様性条約第10回締約国会議で、生物多様性の管理において都市の役割を重視する決議X/22を採択しました。今回のセミナーでは、フィリピンをはじめとする各国の経験を踏まえ、都市部における湿地帯保護計画を推進させる機会について考えます。
This seminar will discuss the challenges a specific group of ecosystems ‐ wetlands ‐ faces against rapid urban development, particular in developing countries. Wetlands are the focus of an important international agreement, the Ramsar Convention. Moreover, the 193 Parties (192 national governments and the European Union) who are signatories to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) adopted Decision X/22 at the tenth meeting of the CBD Conference of the Parties in Aichi, Japan in 2010, which emphasizes the role of cities in biodiversity management and governance. This seminar will highlight experiences from the Philippines and around the world to reflect on opportunities to advance the wetland protection agenda in cities.
