The United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) invites applicants who are capable of supporting research on biodiversity/ecosystem governance towards better conservation.
Position Responsibilities
¡¦Support the planning and implementation of biodiversity-related scientific events and publications
¡¦Analyse international policies regarding biodiversity/ecosystem services
¡¦Support publications through proofreading, literature research and literature analysis, revision of drafts
¡¦Support public communication activities such as creation of a new webpage
¡¦Support screening of databases for funding opportunities
Number of Positions: 1
Desirable Qualifications
¡¦Academic background: Postgraduate student (master¡Çs or doctoral) in social, economic and/or environmental studies with a proven focus on practical biodiversity policy implementation
¡¦Language: Proficient in English (writing and listening); Applicants with Japanese and/or native English language abilities will be given priority
¡¦Interests: Experience and/or interest in policy mixes for improved governance in ecological planning, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, sustainable development, environmental law, and ecological and environmental economics; applicants with interdisciplinary backgrounds will be given priority
¡¦Skills: Strong practical experience with common literature databases; webpage creation skills a plus
Duration¡§Three months (Schedule to be further arranged)
Interns¡Ç Expenses: Interns are not financially remunerated by UNU-IAS. The Institute also accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the internship. Interns must provide proof of enrolment in a health insurance plan.
